Chromatic Dispersion and Polarization Mode Dispersion

SLEDs are used are used in the diagnostics of optical networks. Dense-Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed (DWDM), Optical Channel Monitor (OCM) and Optical Performance Monitor (OPM)

Wavelength drift monitoring is becoming important to maintain the performance in dense-wavelength-division-multiplexed (DWDM) systems. In Optical Channel Monitor (OCM) or Optical Performance Monitor (OPM) applications SLEDs work as wavelength reference sources. In order to perform and guarantee long-term wavelength calibration, spectrum analyzers require optical sources having a wide and stable optical spectrum.
