CD and PMD Measurements
EXALOS SLEDs, especially in the 1300 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths bands, offers all features for optical network diagnostics:
Wide optical spectrum, high polarization extinction ratio, high optical power spectral density.

S LEDs are used in some types of diagnostic test equipment for optical networks. Several fiber optic measurement techniques like Wavelength Drift Monitoring, Chromatic Dispersion (CD) and Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) exploit the characteristics of SLEDs, taking advantage of their large bandwidth, high power spectral density, low ripple and operating wavelengths extending in the C and L communication bands.
Fiber Optic Test Equipment that is designed to perform PMD measurements in the C- and L- bands can take advantage of the wide optical spectrum, high polarization extinction ratio and high optical power spectral density offered by the EXALOS’ SLEDs in the 1300-nm and 1550-nm wavelength bands.
